Blackbutt is a versatile Australian hardwood with an even texture and generally straight grain. The heartwood ranges from golden yellow to pale brown, occasionally with a pinkish hue. Commonly used for structural, exterior, and interior applications, blackbutt is popular for cladding, flooring, decking and joinery. Bal 29 rated.

Notes

Blackbutt (Eucalyptus pilularis) has a Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) rating of up to BAL 29. Under Australian Standard AS 3959, it is officially recognized as a bushfire-resisting timber and can be used in areas up to BAL-29 without requiring fire-retardant treatments, provided it meets minimum thickness requirements (typically 18mm or greater)
